Sometime back it we were greeted with the happy news of Karl Largerfeld’s collaboration with high-end beauty brand Shu Uemura. While we will not be able to set our eyes on the actual collection until Christmas, we have been given a sneak peek! The designer has released a teaser video for the line he’s created. The video features their adorable mascot, aptly titled the “Mon Shu Girl”! She was conceived after Lagerfeld got inspired from a stack of colorful eye shadows. The video shows an animated Karl Lagerfeld sketching a figure of a girl. Once he fills her in with some Shu Uemura products, she comes alive. This is apparently an ode to the fact that the designer actually uses Shu Uemura products for his illustrations in real life. He had once said: “I design with Shu Uemura make-up because other manufacturers do not offer such beautiful colors.” While we still don’t know what constitutes the collection, we get the tiniest glimpse of it in the video – including a lipstick, blusher and a neon green eyeshadow.
The Karl Largerfeld Shu Uemura beauty products will be available in Shu Uemura’s 400 locations worldwide and online in November. We can’t wait!
