While the practice of getting extreme plastic surgery to look like a favorite celebrity is not new, this one really takes the cake! Singaporean Fashion Designer Jacqueline Koh has apparently spent a whopping $136,000 over the past several years in an attempt to look like an anime character. It all started a few years back, with a few extra pounds that she just could not lose. She went in for some liposuction and body reshaping procedures. One thing led to another, and soon she was going through a whole series of surgeries, including chin implants, eyelid adjustments, nose jobs and even flattening of her ears. The shocking part is that she claims she doesn’t even like anime. She just liked the way they had disproportionately large eyes and small faces, and wanted the same look for herself.

Lancôme has released a music video on the occasion of the launch of its new collection of lipsticks. The Rouge in Love collection boasts of 24 everyday wearable shades. The video is one of the coolest make-up ads we have seen in a while. It’s surreal and trippy, and totally makes us crave those luscious shades! The video features music created exclusively for the brand by French duo Brigitte and directed by the genius Adria Petty. The video has disembodied lips which are plastered with the Rouge in Love shades, singing along to the words of the song. They are absolutely irresistible. They even feature the face of the brand, Emma Watson, on bus ads and jumbotrons, adding that extra surprise element that keeps you wanting more. If this video is supposed to make you want those lipsticks, they surely do the trick!

It’s about time my favorite fairy of all time got a make-up line of her own. The Swedish brand Pixi is teaming up with Walt Disney Co. to design the limited-edition PixiGlow collection inspired by the beautiful Tinkerbell. Roping in Disney character artist John Quinn, they have created a vintage-inspired collection which will appeal to women of all ages. Tinkerbell is famous for her childlike appeal, and the creators have tried to recreate her fresh-faced, glowing, and timeless beauty. When Sephora released their line of Hello Kitty beauty products for Spring 2012, we just knew it was going to be big! We’re a big fan of Bobbi Brown make-up collection because the brand seems to have an apt collection for every occasion, the recent launches being the Neons and Nudes Spring 2012 Collection and the Party Collection 2011. Now the brand has unleashed the Rose Gold Collection Spring 2012 that is inspired by simple and romantic wedding band. Photography firm Fujifilm has hopped on to the beauty market by introducing its own range of anti-ageing creams that are composed of collagen and antioxidants- the elements used to fix emulsion to film and prevent image fading. This in turn produces a compound that protects the skin from harmful ultra-violet sun rays. Fujifilm claims that its Astalift products help to boost skin tone and contains an antioxidant called astaxanthin which is a chemical considered more effective at reducing the damage caused by ultraviolet rays than CoQ10- the antioxidant co-enzyme that is more commonly used in anti-ageing treatments.
