Tech-giant Sony shone like a star at CES 2013 with products like Xperia Z. And, now Sony has introduced a new range of home cinema systems that are equipped with 4K upscaling features. The BDV-N9100W Home Cinema System claims a whopping 1000-watts of peak power, and features a 3D/2D Blu-ray disc player with 4K upscaling. Like its kin, the BDV-E6100 Home Cinema System features Bluetooth and NFC (near field communications) capabilities. Another new feature of the range is a Sony’s Football Mode, which uses “acoustic data” captured from a Brazilian football stadium, and makes it feel like you’re actually there in the stands, watching the game. The new Football feature also supports other sports such as rugby, tennis, and racing.

If you weren’t able to get your hands on one of these last year, here is your second chance! Digimono Station has unveiled their new digital camera which will let you insert “Madoka Magica” characters into your photos! It is the second in a series of “Madoka Magica” products from Digimono Station. Sony finally has a Tablet it can boast about and its called Xperia Tablet Z. the rumor mills dubbed the tablet that has recently surfaced as a rumored device but theres nothing left to the imagination now. Its all in the open and if I may add the Xperia looks promising and stunning. Believe it or not the Tablet Z with its 10- inch display is negligibly thinner than the ipad mini with 6.9mm waistline. Other impressive features include dust-and-water resistant chassis, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot.

My one year old has over 2000 pictures of her varied emotions, expressions and antics before the age of 11 months. But once she managed the feat of walking (read:running) its difficult to get even a single pretty shot of the lovely moments that are missed due to a slow camera. The Fuji X100S seems like a promising device that can help change the current scenario of blur images and missed moments. The letter S stands for speed which can be credited to the APS-C X-Trans CMOS II and the EXR Processor II in layman language it means camera will focus in 0.08 seconds and shoot six frames per second in 14bit-RAW format.

With tablets trying to do more and more with every new release, it seems like Asus has decided to target another market – people from emerging markets looking for more basic tablets. Asus unveiled their new MeMO Pad ME172V. They released their new product in a very quiet manner, post the completion of CES 2013. With this released, it hopes to take the low-cost 7-inch tablet market by storm. This device runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and is powered by the VIA WM8950, part of the WonderMedia Prizm line of SoCs, with a single core 1.0 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 and Mali-400 graphics processing capable of 1080p video playback and basic 3D. As basic as it is, it offers the full Android experience including access to the Google Play store, ebooks, social networking and web browsing. It features a 7-inch, 1024 x 600 display, with a 140 degree viewing angle. Asus has made it clear that the MeMo Pad will not be a gaming or graphics powerhouse. Their focus for this device is to offer a “smooth and fluid user experience” at an affordable price.

Pimp your Xbox 360 Tomb Raider style, as Microsoft unveils limited edition Tomb Raider Xbox 360 controller. While we have seen various versions of the of the Xbox 360 Controller like Hello Kitty or Union Jack, but the new Tomb Raider version personifies a rugged look for those strenuous games. Announced at CES, the wireless 360 controller, which has a transforming d-pad, comes in red and has a two-layer color finish. Inspired by Lara Croft’s climbing axe and tourniquets in the Tomb Raider reboot, the controller also features thumbprints and laser-etched scratches for a worn out look. Its customizable D-pad is able to switch from a ‘plus’ design to a ‘disc,’ allowing gamers to use it as they prefer. The wireless range of the controller has been set at 30-feet. Apart from the special paint design, this limited edition Tomb Raider controller will also be accompanied by an Xbox Live download code, which enables those who own the game to receive an exclusive Xbox 360 playable character.

Tablet makers have a new emerging target- Kids! Following the various kiddie tablet makers like Lexibook, Toys R US and LG, the tech company Ematic wants to please the pre-adolescent age with a range of new tablets. Ematic has launched four Android devices vary in size, giving you the choice to purchase something more suitable for your child and their smaller hands. The largest one is the FunTab XL, a 9.7 inch tablet with a 1.2GHz processor and 16GB internal memory for just $150. The FunTab XL also has HDMI output capabilities and a camera on either side of the device.
Next up, both the FunTab ($120) and the FunTab Pro ($150) run on 7-inch capacitive screens, with the differences being the processor (the Pro version has a slower 1GHz processor versus the standard’s 1.2GHz) and the Pro’s ability to beam content through HDMI. The FunTab Mini is a scaled down version of its counterparts. It’s portable with a 4.3″ 480X272 touch screen. It has a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a rear camera. It retails for $59.99.

Do you miss your computer keys, while you type on your tablet? Well, you can use a keyboard case like the Zagg or the Cruxskunk but for a real experience Tactus has launched a Touchscreen Tablet that has a has a keyboard you can really feel. The tactile display adds a layer of liquid beneath the display that can pool in an area to create raised areas on the display. Tactus brings new life to touchscreens by enabling real, physical buttons that rise up from a screen’s surface on demand and then disappear back into the screen, leaving a flat, transparent surface when no longer needed.

The last thing that we expected at the CES 2013, is a wrist watch! While, we have seen technologically advanced watches in the past like the Bubble Smartphone watch or the Sony Smartphone watch or the iPod Watch, but E Ink has taken a cosmetic way and introduced the ‘World’s Thinnest Watch’. Developed by Central Standard Timing this 0.8mm design is apparently thinner than a credit card. Using E Ink technology for the display, the screen is encased in a single piece of flexible stainless steel – making the whole watch weight no more than 12g. Its micro energy cell battery is rechargeable and can be charged 100,000 times, giving it a life of around 15 years. The CST-01 also uses an embedded Thinergy Micro-Energy Cell that charges in 10 minutes from an external dock.

This years CES’s most outstanding find has to be the extraordinary transparent washing machine by chinese brand Haier. Its exceptional and goes ahead to make the most dull and boring household appliance seem like something celestial. Look at that thing glow and you believe its descending from the stars. All this said for a washing machine can you buy that? Well you can’t as this neon lighting machine is a concept product for now (or may be the next ten years who knows? Their transparent TV bombed too).
