Fiona Krüger’s Mexican inspired, incredible ‘Memento Mori’ timepieces

I’m sure you’re on the lookout for that unusual gift item that’ll really stand out from the rest this holiday season right? Now look no further. Check out the amazing watch design from the recent ECAL graduate, Fiona Krüger. For her thesis project she created a line called ‘Memento Mori’ which is inspired from Mexican imagery of the famous ‘Dia de los Muertos’ (Day of the Dead festival) and a 17th century watch of Mary the Queen of Scotts.

The watches are shaped as human skulls and detailed intensely in gold metalwork. The solid silver and mineral hand cut glass have all been hand crafted. A gold and rhodium plated brass dial was specially laser cut and engraved to give the watch that perfect touch. The blue coloured steel hands move by an ETA 2824 mechanism. The strap material is an exclusive blued calf leather with a sliver buckle. Have a look at the pictures below to see just how unique these watches really are.
