The FLUX Backpack from Torch Apparel: Your nighttime cycling companion

While we all want to do our bit for the environment by traveling on bicycles, it becomes very difficult to do if we live even a little distance away from our homes. When it comes to cycling in the night, safety is the first, and biggest, concern. That is why products like the new FLUX Backpack from Torch Apparel are such godsends. Flux, touted as “the first waterproof backpack with LED lighting”, promises to keep you safe from all other vehicles in the night. The backpack features a removable USB-powered LED which illuminates a fiber optic panel. This panel is flexible, waterproof and less than 1mm thick, which means it will be adding almost no bulk to the backpack. So basically, when you know you are going to be out riding your bike or walking in the nighttime, just put on the LED light. A button on the shoulder strap lets you switch on the light, and also toggle between steady and flashing modes. Once fully charged, the LED will last for anywhere between 2 and 5 hours, depending on which mode you use.

The FLUX Backpack from Torch Apparel is made from 1000 Denier Cordura Nylon exterior and features a Tarpaulin vinyl coated polyester lining. It comes in two colors – red and black. The Flux backpack currently retails for an introductory price of $120. When it is released, it will cost you $180. So hurry!
