Getting your name on a stamp is a pretty great honor in any country; and now British fashion is poised to receive its due. They are getting their very own collection of stamps called the Great British Fashion Stamp Set! A set of ten new stamps celebrating the best of UK couture has been released by the Royal Mail. The designs of the stamps are deceivingly simple, yet super-stylish; much like the designers’ collections! Each first class stamp features an iconic design from each of the fashion houses. For instance, the Alexander McQueen stamp shows us his extravagant, black feather number; while Paul Smith’s electric blue suit makes an arresting impression! Royal Mail spokesman Philip Parker said, “It is an honor to be able to pay homage to some of the designers who made the industry what it is today.” The series was created by London-based graphic designer Johnson Banks, and shot by fashion photographer Solve Sundsbo.

The Great British Fashion Stamp Set features the designs of Tommy Nutter, Vivienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes, Alexander McQueen, Ossie Clark, Jean Muir, Hardy Amies, Granny Takes A Trip, Paul Smith and Norman Hartnell. The entire set can be bought for £6 (approximately $10).
