LG unveils new Optimus G Smartphone: The powerhouse device with a few tricks up its sleeve
LG Electronics Inc has unveiled its latest high-end Smartphone, and this time around, they are focusing on power-packed upgrades and interesting features to keep up with the competition. The LG Optimus G is the Korean giant’s flagship device, and accordingly boasts some great features like a 4.7-inch True HD IPS+ display with 1280 x 768 WXGA resolution, which promises to be sharper than both the iPhone and Galaxy S3. It comes with a 13 megapixel camera which can be activated by just talking to it. It is also equipped with a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and an embedded 2,100mAh battery, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It will be LTE and NFC compatible and feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor. It will run on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Some interesting features that will make the Optimus G stand out from the crowd includes the QSlide Function which shows two different screens simultaneously on one display, Live Zooming which allows the user to zoom in up to five times while the video is being streamed, QuickMemo allows users to write, draw, or jot a memo with their finger directly on the captured screen, while Application Link launches preset applications (email, calendar, weather, etc.) when the alarm is turned off.
The LG Optimus G is a pretty impressive package overall. It will go on sale next week in South Korea for 1 million won (approximately $900), and later in Japan and the United States.
