Barbie goes intellectual with Architect Barbie
Whoever thought of architecture, as a male-dominated field needs to know that it is a thing of the past. With the new Architect Barbie, even little girls now dream of becoming a successful architect. Mattel and American Institute of Architects (AIA) have joined hands to conduct architecture workshops with Architect Barbie for young girls at the AIA Convention and Design Exposition. It’s a great career option and what better way to educate the youth than this? The students of the AIA can prove their mettle in a design competition for members of the AIA. The challenge is to design Barbie’s new Dream House using guidelines provided direct from Barbie herself
The finalists will post their work online for the public to see and vote in order to choose the winner. The finalists will be announced by the AIA on 7/12/11. The winner, who will be chosen by the public through online voting, will be announced on 8/2.
