Too broke to buy yourself a packet of chips as an evening snack? What if we told you that you could use tweets as currency! You heard right! Kellogg’s has come up with one of the most unique marketing strategies of all times. Special K’s London pop-up, The Tweet Shop, is offering a packet of Special K Cracker Crisps in exchange for social currency in the form of tweets. Not only are they successfully introducing their new product in an unfamiliar market, but are also making sure they are trending on the popular social networking site. All you have to do is visit the store in Meard Street, Soho, London, and post a tweet with the Twitter hashtag #tweetshop in return for a box of its new Cracker Crisps. As you can expect, Twittersphere is jumping at this unique shopping opportunity. It isn’t everyday that you get to buy stuff using tweets as money!

Kellogg’s Special K The Tweet Shop will remain open between 9am and 5pm until Friday September 28th. It is staffed with girls wearing the iconic red dress. The Kellogg’s Special K Cracker Crisps comes in three flavors - sea salt and balsamic vinegar, sweet chilli and sour cream and onion. They are being marketed as “healthy” crisps (London parlance for chips) that are less than 100 calories per “generous” serving.
