We are barely a couple of days away from what many will contend is one of the most exciting moments of the year! The long awaited movie adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit is all set to release worldwide. We will finally get to journey with Bilbo Baggins on his various adventures; adventures which start at the Shire of course! Bag End’s green front door is now an iconic image, both with the fans of the books and movies. In commemoration of its release later in the month, blogger Mike from Semi Sweet has created the most adorable looking cookies featuring this circular green door that opens into the hobbits’ abode. The Hobbit Door Cookies are super easy to make. All it takes is a little skill with a piping bag, and a steady hand. Mike has played around with the design a bit, and created three different versions – the original green door, as well as a red one and a blue one. These have a more intricate pattern on and around the doors. They even get a pair of their own matching windows!

The Hobbit Door Cookies by Mike from Semi Sweet are a must-have for any Hobbit themed parities you may have planned (you know you want to!). Unfortunately, these are not for sale. However, mike does share detailed instructions on how to go about achieving these looks. Head on over to Semi Sweet and maybe you will manage to make your own!
