OMsignal’s smart shirt communicates your health to a smartphone

Posted on June 13, 2013 by nehasharma

Wearable technology can help people talk to strangers, lets you make music with your hands, and even update your status on facebook! However, now the most useful wearable technology has acquired some light. The OMsignal’s smart shirt is a smart apparel that works somewhat like Fibit. OMsignal’s clothing contains a 3-axis accelerometer, the basic tool found in other fitness devices, which measures motion, steps, and calories. It also detects and measures two other signals: your ECG—the electrical signature of your heart—and respiration rhythms. The best part is, the OMsignal’s apparel doesn’t just count your calories or tally up your steps for the day. It helps you understand how you are feeling, as it can measure your emotional state. The wearer can connect to the unit via Bluetooth and view graphic charting of their biological data on the OMsignal app. The app displays their emotive state, relaxation levels and stress patterns throughout the day.

The Analog Clocktail Table: Add some retro whimsy to your room

Posted on June 13, 2013 by meghna

The coffee table is no longer the boring old wooden fixture in the middle of your living room. The latest, most innovative designs make sure your coffee table serves more than one purpose. For instance, the LED teak and driftwood cocktail table and the Ms. Pac-Man / Galaga Classic Cocktail Table Arcade Game are unique enough to completely take over the room. The latest creation makes sure you never have to worry about being late for your next meeting ever again. The Analog Clocktail Table is exactly what it sounds like – a giant analog clock which doubles as a cocktail table. It is a table with a 36″-diameter analog clock underneath its glass top which actually shows the time. It provides an easy and convenient option for timekeeping, while also adding some much-needed whimsy to your living room. Its frame is made from powder-coated steel, finished in burnished umber and flecked with gold streaks. It features four inward-scrolling legs tipped with unseen rubber feet. The retro look perfectly complements the old-timey analog clock with hour and minute hands which are tipped in classic black spear finials. On top, it is fitted with a 1/2″-thick beveled, annealed glass tabletop with silicon offsets to prevent scratching.
